Meet Hugo Buck

I am the CEO, Angela Kreps, with a BSc in Journalism and Mass Communications. I spent nearly a decade as CEO of a bioscience industry organization, a former District Manager at a Fortune 300 service firm, with several years in banking before that. (Fun Fact: I was named the bank’s first Sales Officer when sales was introduced to banks in the 90’s.)

In 2014, I founded Hugo Buck to leverage 25+ years in sales and leadership. Working alongside CEO’s, we strengthen sales organizations and achieve remarkable results. Bottom line: I help others succeed. It fills my bucket.

Who is Hugo Buck?

Growing in the rural western Kansas town of Hugoton, where everybody knows everybody, I developed a strong work ethic. My first job was as an engraver in my dad’s pharmacy, quickly learning you can’t make money if you make too many mistakes. Quite a lesson for a 3rd grader.

My family loved buck hunting, which taught me the criticality of patience, listening, persistence, and a good aim. That is why I named my company Hugo Buck. I help my clients focus on what matters.

Who are my clients?

Clients range in size from startups to large global firms. Results, however, are typically the same: Together we drive exceptional growth. How we get there is to customize an engagement, typically a targeted, results-based action plan, with pre-defined outcomes. Most engagements are short, yet impactful.

What do we do?

We generally start by getting to know the team. Understanding the value proposition. Your unique position in the market. Why people buy what you sell. Those kinds of things that are the essence of your brand. We want to understand you, your team, your vision for your brand.

Then we move to understanding the market. How are you special? How do you impact your customers? How do you deliver what you sell? Who are your biggest competitors and what do you know about them? How is the market, right now? Changing, growing?

Who are your customers? How do they give you feedback? How often do they buy? Is it easy for them to send you referrals? Do they want to (and how do you find out)?

Once there’s an understanding of you and your customers, we start to get under the hood. I’m a self-professed process improvement geek. We are particularly interested in commercial operations processes, but my experience spans from global marketing, sales, & distribution, to business operations to legal, finance, & administration. Certainly our biggest strengths lie in sales, operations, and leadership.
